Reception Assembly

Fabulous Friday

Today was a red-letter day for many reasons. First and foremost, the Reception children put on a wonderful assembly performance. It was lovely to see so many parents watching with enjoyment and to see the children having a great time on stage. Afterwards, they were so pleased with themselves and proud of what they had done! We had a lovely day.

We also enjoyed celebrating Ms Jacqueline's birthday! Thank you, Kimberley, Shirley, Reception parents and all the children for the lovely flowers, cake, cards and gifts.

If anyone has a video or photographs of the assembly, please let me have them and I'll add them to our blog.

Assembly Arrangements

The big day will soon arrive and the children are excited about sharing their learning with their parents. The children have the props that they need and should wear comfortable clothing similar to what they wear for PE for the day. The girls who are wearing ballet clothes should bring a change of clothes for playtime.

The assembly begins at 9.20 and our part will end at 9.30, so don't be late :-) We'll go into the hall at 9.15, so if you'd like to take some photos before we start, this would be a good opportunity to do so.

So, please relax, sit back and enjoy their performance. No doubt none of it will go as planned, but that is what we love about them :-))

Our Visit to Krokop Market

We had such fun on Tuesday! We went shopping at Krokop market. We met our mums there and they helped us to explore the market. There were so many things to see! We had written a shopping list on Monday and we used RM4.00 to buy some fruit. We went back to school and enjoyed cutting up our apples, pears, bananas, grapes and kiwi fruit. We made a fruit salad. It was delicious!

Shopping Activities

This week we have been talking about what we know about shopping. We discussed different kinds of shops and painted our own pictures of shops. We learned that everything in a shop has a price and we priced the goods in our class shop. We have also begun learning about money and what the coins 1p, 2p and 5p are worth. We counted the coins in purses and practised our counting skills with Ms Samantha (who is visiting from South Africa) using Smarties. They were yummy!

Assembly

Our class assembly takes place on the 10th May at 9.20. We look forward to sharing our learning with our parents :-)
